Standing in the loo at the Bookstop, used bookstore on 4th ave. in tucson… a very old building with a tiny public (sort of) bathroom with a perpetually dripping faucet, retro pipes and conduit and chipped paint sink. The sort of bathroom that comes with instructions about how to flush and how to shut off water and inevitable claustrophobia. As I patched this one, I realized my eye had followed the various routes of the linear additions, and that I was putting it together in a sort of “spiralling down the drain” shape.
